First Florida Branch Bank Prototype
1991

More often than not, selected sites for this 3,000 square foot branch bank were within areas of dense commercial development. Accordingly, it was a primary design challenge to develop, albeit an extremely small building, a project that would convey an image of permanence and dignity befitting that of a major financial institution.

The design draws attention to the primary banking functions through the expression of the simple geometry of the steel trusses both within the main lobby area as well as the drive-through. Further emphasis is drawn by the contrast of these trusses to the minimal surfaces and massing of the brick elements.
