Efficiency pervades throughout. Twenty-four hour functions such as computer operations, photo processing, print shops, and laboratories were grouped together to maximize the efficiency of security, air conditioning and backup energy systems. On-site retention requirements led to the development of a 3½-acre lake, which, in addition to providing a major landscape feature, provided fill material for the elevated warehouse floors. The project which makes extensive use of textured precast concrete, frames views of the lake to the south and opens onto exterior terraces and stairways to the north.
